DECISION has been reserved by the Scottish Traffic Commis sioners on a licensing battle over who should provide services to the Sullom Voe oil ter minal on Shetland. Hitherto these have been provided by Bolt's Coaches of Lerwick under contract to BP Petroleum Development Ltd.
Bolt's had applied to take over licences from BP Petroleum De velopment authorising the operation of services between Vidlin/Voe and Sullom Voe, Brae and Mossbank, and Lerwick and Sullom Voe or Mossbank. The application was opposed by Shaldar Coaches and John Leask and Son.
The objectors lodged counter applications for a joint service between Lerwick and Toft serv ing Sullom Voe and Mossbank.
Shaldar Coaches also sought to vary the existing licence for a service between Mossbank and Lerwick by altering the route and timetable and running additional journeys to serve Sullom Voe. This was opposed by Bolt's and BP Petroleum Development.
Bolt's gave evidence that it had provided the services under contract to BP for some years. The commissioners are to give their decision in writing.
