Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LORRY DRIVERS could soon find themselves having to learn how to operate a computer as an every day part of their working life.

The Department of Trade and Industry has given the go-ahead for a £7.5 million project to develop mobile information systems.

Co-ordinated by Racal, the scheme is part of the £350 million Alvy Programme for research into fifth generation computers.

The purpose is to develop over the next 5 years new services for users of mobile, portable and transportable communications systems based on cellular and radiotelephone technology.

Local traffic information, route guidance and vehicle location data would be available through new terminals fitted in lorries.

The hope is to develop other terminals that would also provide electronic office facilities, including invoicing, at the end of a radio telephone.
