Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

fHE Passenger Vehicle Operators Association decided this week to form a 15-member committee to lead a nation-wide fight against further nationalization of Britain's buses and coaches. The committee includes experienced campaigners from the nationalization threat nearly 20 years ago and will co-opt additional members as necessary. There will also be a smaller steering committee.

The PVOA is already playing a leading part in local committees for the Birmingham and Tyneside conurbations (see below) and is seeking to establish further committees for Manchester and Merseyside.

PVOA members are to be asked to contribute to a fighting fund and, "in view of the seriousness of the threat to all bus and coach operators", non-members will also be invited to subscribe. It is hoped that associated industries will help.

'LOCAL CTA CONTROL' "THERE are various :ways in which Passenger Transport Authorities might be set up. But the general aim—and we shall be providing for this in the Transport Bill—is to ensure that transport is planned over a wide area, and that road and rail services are effectively integrated. There will be effective local democratic control "—Mr. John Morris, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, speaking in London on Wednesday evening.
