MOST OF THE 30 accidents involving coaches in European countries in 1966 were due to bad driving—few were due to unsafe vehicles or road conditions.
This is the conclusion of the Committee of Deputies of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport. Regarding driver fatigue the report said that it was difficult to determine afterwards whether fatigue had played a part in an accident.
