MR. JACK JONES, No. 3 in the TGWU hierarchy, is to lose his seat on the Labour Party executive because of a reshuffle among members of the Union.
The 40 rank-and-file members of the Union executive reverted to tradition and nominated one of themselves for one of the Union's two seats on the TUC general council. Mr. Harry Nicholas is to step down and Mr. Bill Jones, Left-wing leader of the London busmen, joins Mr. Frank Cousins as one of the two nominees.
Mr. Nicholas will be nominated for the Labour Party executive in October, at the expense of Mr. Jack Jones.
