introduced by Joseph Lucas (Batteries), Ltd. It is identical in capacity and design to the existing carsize battery. filler which has a glass container, but has the obvious advantage of being unbreakable.
As it is made of rigid plastic, there is no danger of the bottle being squeezed and the battery over-filled.
Glass-type battery fillers will continue to be marketed and at present the plastic one is available in the car size only.
Retail price of the filler is 6s. 6d.
Cleaning and Polishing N"products from Solvolene Lubricants, Ltd., Reginald Square, London, S.E.8, include Solvol Autosol Wax Polish and Solvol Autosol Shampoo. The former is said to produce a shine without hard rubbing whilst the latter, which has a wax base is mixed with water and the vehicle washed down with the solution. After washing, the vehicle is left to dry and the need for polishing is eliminated.
Retail price of a can of the wax polish is 5s. and the shampoo is sold in small sachets costing 9d. each and in tubes costing 3s. 6d. each.
Another product from the same concern is Solvol Handcleaner. This is sold in a large tube which costs 2s. 6d. or in larger quantities for industrial use. The handcleaner is also an antiseptic and emollient and after rubbing on to the hands is preferably washed off although removal with a cloth gives reasonably good results.
