WITH the opening of the International Construction Equipment Exhibition yesterday, Crystal Palace returned to its original function, as the site of a major exhibition, for the first time for 25 years. At the time of writing this preview, it appears that the number and range of exhibits will be worthy of the occasion. In all about 180 concerns will be represented on the 25-acre site, which includes 5 acres of proving grounds where equipment will be working.

Much of the equipment on view will have no connection with road transport or those concerned with road vehicles. On the other hand, a great deal of it has such connection, and it is with this equipment that this preview will deal.
