JAMES, chairman and director of a number of companies in the British Electric Traction group, and managing director of the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd., has been re-elected vicechairman He is also a director of B.E.T., Ltd. MR. R I. H. lowistsN, chairman of Hants and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd., and Wilts and Dorset Motor Services, Ltd., has also been re-elected vice-chairman. MR. C. H. STAFFORD, general manager of Leicester City transport department, has been elected chairman of the East Midlands section of the Institute of Transport.
• MR. JOHN BRANNIGAN, general secretary and treasurer of the Scottish Horse and Motormen's Association, was awarded the M.B.E. in the Birthday Honours.
MR. STANLEY W. COCHRANE has been appointed deputy chairman and managing director of Briggs Motor Bodies, Ltd. He will take up his position on July 10.
MR. J. S. ROBINSON has been appointed South Wales regional sales manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., in succession to MR. A. G. FALSHAW, now southern regional sales manager. MR. R. ALLEN, north-west sales representative for the past 17 years, has retired. He is succeeded by MR. G. B. TAYLOR.
MR. T. C. COURTNEY has been appointed chairman of Coras lompair Eireann by the Republic of 'Ireland under its Transport Act, 1949. MR. G. B. HOWDEN, M.I.C.E., M.I.C.E.(I), M.Inst.T., has been appointed general manager. Part-time members of the board are MR. JOHN BRUTON, MR, L. DOMONICK DALY. MR. PATRICK I. FLOYD, MR. EDWARD H. MURPHY, MR.
