• The future of Glass Glover Distribution's Bathgate distribution centre has been settled now Safeway is to continue with the site.
Reorganisation by Safeway means from this month the Bathgate site will deal with tobacco, alcohol and drinks while the Christian Salvesen-run operation at Belshill will handle household and dry goods.
The change safeguards 180 jobs at Bathgate — Glass Glover's five-year contract expired in March and Safeway had considered moving the whole operation to Bellshill.
