• ARC reports that the wrangle between its Premix ready-mixed concrete company in Kent and the owner drivers employed by Premix has still to be resolved, although the threat of further industrial action appears to have diminished for the moment.
Two weeks ago Premix owner drivers in Kent went on strike for a day to protest against the company's plan to add another two vehicles to its fleet in the South East. The owner drivers claim there is insufficient work for the extra trucks, although ARC says it is going ahead with its expansion programme.
