Jack Graham, chairman of the Association's Planning and Transportation Committee, said: "The Planning and Transportation Committee is very concerned about the transportation of dangerous loads without the authority being told of their presence.
"Many authorities are rightly concerned about the movement of irradiated nuclear fuel but equally they are worried about the transport of radioactive hazardous loads. It is the authority which has to cope in an emergency and the authority must know that such a load is due to cross its boundaries."
