Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Three Members of Parliament have accepted an invitation to "sit in" on a meeting of the working party set up by the National Guild of Transport Managers to investigate the standards of overnight accommodation for drivers and vehicles.

The meeting, which is to be held in Hull on July 31, will be attended by MPs James Johnson, Kevin McNamara and John Prescott, all of whom represent Hull constituencies and have taken a keen interest in matters concerning the transport industry, particularly the welfare of drivers.

The chairman of the working party, Mr Bill Heathcote, of Nottingham, said: "The importance, and immensity, of this problem is underlined by the acceptance of our invitation by these MPs. Our survey has got off to a good start and we shall be considering the first returns at this meeting. Questionnaires are being circulated throughout the industry with the assistance of the TGWU, who are represented on the working party.

"Drivers from all parts of the country are co-operating well and first impressions are that they are being very fair in their reports. Obviously, this is not an investigation which we can rush, but we hope to have a first report out early in 1972."
