Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

T'HE advent a the roll-on/off ferry era has I brought with it a demand for door-to-door deliveries to destinations beyond our shores. More and more transport operators are being asked to quote for through loads that hitherto would automatically have been sent to the docks for onward dispatch by convenient vessels,

In an endeavour to help such operators— who are often faced with the decision whether to accept an invitation to quote or whether to pass on such inquiries to the handful of specialists, with the possibility of losing a valuable customer—" The Commercial Motor" has compiled this up-to-date guide to shipping companies who now offer regular sailings to Scandinavia, Europe, Ireland, the Scottish islands and several of our off-shore islands. All roll-on/off ferries are included as well as such conventional shipping services as are willing to accept loaded goods vehicles and coaches for lift-on/off transfer.
