last week, whether the regulations to which the Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry referred in his answer on June 15 permitted the use on new vehicles of direction indicators of the semaphore type after August 31 next, Lord Lindgren replied "No ".
But where a vehicle registered before that date was fitted with semaphore-type indicators they would continue to be legal, he added. Direction indicators fitted to vehicles newly registered after August 31 would have to be in the form of flashing amber lights.
