by the movement of long loads, members of the heavy haulage and machinery carriers' group of the Road Haulage Association are recommending to their customers that, before being sent by road, the overall length of such items of equipment as excavators with drag lines and machines wills long jibs should be reduced, when this can be done easily and without cost. A limit of 40 ft. in the length of an attached projecting jib is recommended wherever possible.
