CANUTE GROUP has put 34 Renault Premium 6x2 tractor units into operation, replacing some older Euro-4 units as well as increasing the size of its fleet.
The operator will use the 20 red trucks to service its contract with Wilkinson, running between service centres to Wilkinson stores across the UK.
The remaining 14 yellow-liveried tractor units will move building materials from factories to construction sites as part of its specialist building materials division. They will be coupled with trailers fitted
with mechanical offloading equipment and blower packs for discharging pressure tankers.
The 460hp trucks come with the Privilege cab and Optidriver gearboxes, and were supplied by Renault Trucks Essex.
Canute Group director Wayne Marshall said: "These new Renault Premiums are the first step in increasing our presence again, developing this sector for our group, and will give us the flexibility to become one of the largest construction operators in the UK once again."
