• Scania is setting up a European heavy goods driving competition aimed at young professional drivers to help improve road safety.
The Swedish manufacturer is organising the event in conjunction with the European Commission whose white paper, European Transport Policy for 200: Time to Decide, sets targets of cutting road deaths across Europe to 20,000-half the current total-by 2010, as well as improving fuel economy and general driving ability. cede a practical final in August at Millbrook Proving Grounds, and the winners will travel to Sweden for the European final in September.
