Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Is every local council fitting these dangerous roadside cameras to catch speeding motorists? As I drive around the country I have recently noticed the number of speed cameras has risen sharply.

It appears that local authorities are desperate to install these devices, oblivious to the safety implicabons. Drivers now spend less time looking at the road ahead but instead stare intently at anything on the side of the road that looks vaguely like it is capable of photographing a speeding vehicle.

The other problem occurs as drivers who know the road speed between the cameras only to slam on the brakes as the approach the next one.

I have seen several near misses and one minor collision which was the result of such behaviour.

As our roads become increasingly congested the authorities cannot simply put up more cameras, but must address the fundamental causes of road crowding. More police patrols would catch drivers speeding dangerously and leave sensible drivers to continue their journeys—with both eyes on the road.
