• The author of a controversial article on the hazard of tired truck drivers is standing by his claims.
Professor Jim Horne of Loughborough University admits that his piece in New Scientist magazine missed the fact that drivers must rest for at least nine hours a day (CM 9-15 January).
But existing drivers' hours rules still allow a dangerous 15 hours work in a day, he says.
