• Leeds-based haulier Alan Thompson has been warned that he must apply for a fresh Operator's Licence, after it was revealed that he was operating in partnership with his wife and son.
Thompson holds a licence for six vehicles and five trailers based at Scotch Park Trading Estate, Armley. In 1988 he gave an undertaking to erect a suitable building so that the vehicles could be maintained under cover. But this had not been done so North Eastern DLA Anthony Richardson curtailed the licence to expire in April.
The DLA said that he required an application in the name of the partnership to be submitted within 14 days, warning that it would also be necessary for the partners to seek interim authority to continue to operate.
