seems unlikely that it will move away from the lucrative traffics of Felixstowe, Great Yarmouth and Harwich completely. I am told that there is very little growth anticipated in food distribution, yet another 50,000sqft of covered warehousing is on the way.

The company which was conceived at Lenham storage, might have thought of following in its "mentor's" footsteps and moved into inland customs clearance. It would have been a natural step. But I believe the next development will be further warehousing, perhaps near Manchester.

Internal development is on computer control under the guidance of Andy Carter, the company secretary. Already the "brain box" is processing wages, salaries, accounts and preparing to programme stock control of some of the 3,200 lines. One customer has installed its own terminal for direct computer link. This gives immediate two-way communication over a post office land line and an instantaneous stock print-out to the customer. This terminal, if properly used, could accommodate two or three other companies. With an 81-p letter taking three or four days to reach its destination this could very well be Anglia's next development.
