Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Leeds' fans

• Two coach operators were granted licences to carry Leeds United supporters to the Elland Road football ground, Leeds, by the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners, last week.

West Yorkshire Road Car Co. Ltd. was granted an additional excursion from Knaresborough. The application for this excursion was objected to by J. Dodsworth (Coaches) Ltd.

Applications by Dodsworth and W. Pync and Sons Ltd., both to add a picking-up point in Knaresborough to take passengers to Elland Road. were refused.

Murgatroyd's Transport (Summerbridge) Ltd. is now able to convey supporters from Pateley Bridge. The proposed fare of 6s return was amended by the Commissioners to 8s.

West Yorkshire and Pync objected on the grounds that West Yorkshire operated a stage service from Pateley Bridge to Harrogate and that both objectors provided a service from Harrogate to Leeds.

Witnesses for the applicant company said that to use the existing services would involve them in four hours travelling and would cost about 12s. •
