• The Minister of Transport has called a special meeting, open to the public, today at the Town Hall, Normanton, Yorks, to discuss the weight restriction proposals which affect 106 canal bridges in Yorkshire, nine of which are on major roads. Local authorities, the West Riding county council and landowners have been notified of the meeting.
