Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAF HAS launched a new double-drive tandem axle bogie for units optimised to pull loads of 32 tonnes gross weight or above.

The SR1360T air-sprung bogie its between Daf’s existing single-reduction bogie, (the SR1132T) and its heavy-duty hub-reduction bogie. It has a high torque capacity and load capability with single-reduction gearing, eliminating the gear-churning losses of hub reduction axles.

There are two versions available, with capacities of either 21 or 26 tonnes, suitable for train weights of up to 70 tonnes. It will cut fuel consumption by around 5% compared with the hub-reduction bogie and is 375kg lighter. It also slashes £1,210 off the vehicle’s list price.

UK product marketing manager Phil Moon says: “This new single-reduction doubledrive bogie will be perfect for heavy-haulage applications and drawbars that operate above 32 tonnes and need the higher power ratings.”
