The giant SED construction show moves to Rockingham Speedway at Corby this year.
Once again CM is organising the Truckzone...
It's a new location and a new start for the Commercial Motor"fruckzorie at SED.The ..,, Truckzone is now at the heart of the show and will feature all the trucks. trailers,tippers, light CVs, lorry loaders and accessories that are involved in the construction sector. In addition, we've added a purpose-built 4x4 test area where you can see just what these vehicles are capable of when the going gets tough.
Mosi of the major truck and van manufacturers will be represented at this giant exhibition. Renault Trucks has been a feature of the Truckzone since we launched it five years ago:this year it will be showing its full range of construction products—look out for the new Premium tractor unit.The company might also bring a revamped version of the Kerax tipper to market in time for SED.
Like Renault,Iveco has been in the Truckzone from the start. Pride of place on its stand is likely to be taken by the new Trakker multi-wheeler line-up. alongside the Eu rocargo and the popular Daily van range. Vauxhall had another storming year in 2005; it will be exhibiting its recently updated range of vans and chassis-cabs in the zone.The stars of the show will include the latest Movano crew-cab tipper and the five-seater Combo crew van. Also on the van front, Renault UK will have its full range of products on display. And Nissan will be back in the zone this year, showing its new Navara 4x4 range as well as its impressive van line-up.
Scania's in the zone
Scania is also back.Although not confirmed, the company is expected lobe showing three vehicles from its range of chassis for the construction industry.
The Scania P-Series construction range continues to make big inroads in the construction sector and no doubt it will feature prominently at SED.
There are several newcomers to the Truckzone this year as it continues to attract more and more visitors. Mercedes Trucks has had a presence at SED for the past few years, and this year it has elected to join theTruckzone.Watch out for the all-new Axor eightwheeler on the German giant's stand.
Specialist trailer manufacturer Roger Dyson will be exhibiting a range of plant loaders and travelling-axle trailers. Plantloader manufacturer 13rimec will display its wares on the Roger Dyson stand, along with its own range of travelling axle trailers.
Mercedes dealer S&B Commercials,which also deals in other areas such as concrete pumps and mixers, will display a wide range of products. Truck-mounted crane specialist Fassi UK is another newcomer to theTruckzone. IsuzuTruck 1 K will be showing its recently revamped NOR range of light trucks, now equipped with automated transmission as standard.The company has plans to extend its product range and there is at least an outside chance the new I 5-tonner may be ready in time to make its debut at Truckzone. Kel-Berg Trailers andTrucks will be back at SED back for 2006 after a year's rest and promises to bring along a truck chassis equipped with a mixer body.although the exact model has yet to be confirmed.
Edstrim of Sweden,a supplier of van racking. shelving and accessories, is a brand new exhibitor to the show:it will be displaying a vehicle fully kitted out with a number of products from its range. In addition. t he recently rebranded Tevo will he exhibiting its modular vehicle racking and storage systems.
At last year's event Hope Technical gained a hue-chip customer —construction giant Laing O'Rourke. Hope is anticipating similar success at SED 2006.
Once again the company will be showing its heavy-duty rear-protection bumpers for light CVs, including protection bumpers with towing equipment. Alongside Hope, the team from Autosonies will be exhibiting the Back Minder reversing aid and a selection of other forward-thinking products. •
