A CHESHIRE firm's licence was revoked because it took on a third partner nearly six years ago without telling the Traffic Commissioner.
North Western Traffic Commissioner Beverley Bell said she is becoming "increasingly frustrated" by operators who seem to think it doesn't matter when they make changes affecting their 0-licence.
Nicholas and Michael Brookes, trading as Nick Brookes Demolition and Waste Disposal. of Nantwich,Cheshire. held a licence for 25 vehicles and three trailers.
Appearing for the lirm, John Dyne told the TC that in April 2000 Sarah Howard Perry became a partner with a 10% interest.They were not aware of the need to notify the TC.
The TC said that when the licence was continued in December 2003 the TAO was not told about the change in the partnership.
Dyne claimed that when Brookes' Demolition sent in the renewal form I loward Perry's name was included.The firm was advised that a change of partners required a fresh application but this was not made.
Revoking the licence from the end of the month to give the firm time to seek a fresh licence. the TC said she would be prepared to grant a licence for the same number of vehicles.
She was satisfied that after a poor maintenance investigation in July the firm had conducted "a root and branch review" and had acted to resolve matters.
