Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FOLLOWING VARIOUS articles in CM and other trade publications on the very real issues surrounding today's haulier,I felt compelled to offer what I believe to be a straightforward solution to two current problems.

These are UK hauliers having margins squeezed tighter and the marketplace being made 'more competitive' by our European .brothers'.So, how about: • All operators with 100 vehicles or fewer qualify for a 10% fuel duty rebate • All those with 100 to 200 qualify for a 5% rebate • All those with 200-plus qualify for 3% Obviously, all percentages would need to he calculated and implemented by someone with a greater knowledge than mine.

All hauliers would need to sign up to the system to qualify and this would be subject to a 100% clean record with regard to all Vosa inspections, be it on site or roadsicle.Any prohibition or PG9 would result in a percentile loss on available rebate, to a maximum of nil.

All rebates lost to the hauliers would then be paid toVosa to give it a much needed cash injection.
