UK SALES of Leyland Sherpa panel vans increased by six per cent in 1979 reaching a new record level of over 17,000 sales for the year.

Overall, 16,376 Sherpas were registered in the UK and additional Government business accounted for another 876. This is the fifth successive year that Sherpa sales have increased.

Since its introduction in late 1974 Sherpa sales have nearly doubled from 9000 to the current 17,000.
