Lord Montagu of Beaulieu is president elect of the Institute of Traffic Administration and succeeds Frank White to the office on May 12 at the Institute's agm in Birmingham. Mr White has been president of IOTA for three years since he succeeded Lord Merivale. The new president's main interest in transport until now has been an involvement in cars and recently he created the Beaulieu Museum Trust to administer the new National Motor Museum. He is also president of the Historic Commercial Vehicles Club, Donald Garner has been appointed group transport engineer for Amey Roadstone Corporation Ltd, following the merger of Amalgamated Roadstone Co Ltd and the Amey Group. He was formerly group transport manager with Amalgamated Roadstone and served for 20 years with the Royal Army Service Corps and the Royal Corp of Transport.

A. J. Crisp, who was regional manager, Scotland and the North, for Brown Brothers Ltd, has moved to the South East and is based at Harlow; he is succeeded by J. I. M. Sutherland. In the South West B. J. T. Huggett is promoted regional manager to succeed R. H. Coxhill who has retired after 46 years with the company.

Hugh W. Cockett, who last year left Transport Internation Pool to start Trailer International Rentals with Dick and Ray Collen, has been joined by Alan Kemp, 30, as operations manager based at the main depot in Richmer Road, Erith, Kent. Mr Kemp was formerly assistant operations manager at TIP.

Tony Parry, 28, recently sales co-ordinator for United Carriers Ltd, has been appointed commercial manager of NSM Carriers Ltd, the Finedon, Northants-based express parcels operator, A. E. Landon becomes company secretary and accountant.

B. F. Williams has been appointed organization and methods manager at the head office of BRS Parcels Ltd. He was previously projects manager, Freight Computer Services Ltd.

Douglas G. MacDonald, 42, managing director of John Menzies (Holdings) Ltd, newspaper distributor, has been appointed a part-time member of the board of the National Freight Corporation.

J. G. E. Nye, at present deputy general manager, with Burnley Colne and Nelson Joint Transport Committee, is to become transport general manager with Lytham St Anne's Corporation Transport.

V. M. Platt, formerly assistant fleet engineer with a large civil engineering company has been appointed assistant chief engineer of Lancashire United Transport Ltd.

Nail Townend, at present principal assistant (special projects) with Edinburgh City Transport, has been appointed to the post of assistant manager (traffic) to succeed William C. Brown, on his retirement, 'Brian Nelson has been appointed AMF Beaird Belfast manager — pressure-vessel sales with responsibility for promoting and marketing the company's LPG storage and transportation products. Mr Nelson has been with AM F for five years.
