Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Right Tyre for the Load and the Pressure to Which Inflation Should

be Carried,

WE have asked for the latest particulars of i-meumatic tyres now offered for service on commercial motors, and, whilst we have .yet to hear from certain makers and concessionnaires, we think the lists given below are as complete as it is usually possible to make them, and that they will at least form 'a useful guide to the buying department. in each case we .give the figures showing the size Of tyre suitable for the load, the weight specified being the total load per axle with fuel, water, load and' personnel, and in every case a single tyre to each wheel is assumed. Where

twin tyres are used on the rear wheels, taking the _ same size of tyre as set out in the table, the permissible load may be doubled (perhaps slightly less) whilst the inflation pressures would be unaltered.

The makens of tyres invariably give a figure for each tyre for the recommended load per axle and one showing the maximum permissible load. In most eases where more than one weight figure is not given in the tables below, the difference between the recommended and the maximum weights is from 2 cwt. for the smaller sizes to 5 cwt. for the largest size of tyre.
