Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• United Biscuits has created an "environmentally friendly" prototype tractor unit and trailer. The three-axle Montracon Tasker trailer has been fitted with extensive streamlining from Aerodyne of Perivale, as has the Mercedes-Benz 2534 LS 6x2 tractor unit, and will be used to test potential improvements in fuel economy and emissions.

The Mercedes day cab unit is fitted with an extension collar, cab sidewings, sideskirts, chassis covers and moulded rear light covers, while the 4.2mhigh trailer has a fullheight deflector and extensive underbody streamlining. The most unusual fea

tures are the trailer skirts, which completely shroud the wheels; these have hinged panels for access, and are claimed to reduce spray.

The rig is covering 5,000km a week on a combination of trunking and distribution for UB Distribution Services.
