The Motor Vehicles (Third Party Risks) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 CIF it July 2001. Amend the 1972 regulations by altering the requirements as to the keeping of records of vehicles and their insurance policies. These are required to be kept for seven years after expiry.
The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2001. CIF 1June 2001. Increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for tachograph repars or installations. Under these amendments the fee for the renewal of an approval is increased from £99 to £102; the fee for new issues becomes £251.
The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No2) Regulations 2001. CIF 1 February 2001. Amend Regulation 43 of the 1999 regulations, prohibiting holders of Category A (motorcycle) licences from sub-category Ell vehicles (three or four-wheeled vehicles not exceeding 550 kg LAM) unless they passed the test before 1February 2001.
ihe Goods Vehicles (Plating ad Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 2001. CIF 28 May 2001. Increase the fees payable for first examination, periodical test or re-test of vehicles and trailers. The fee payable for a two-axle vehicle rises from 237 to £38; the fee payable for a three-axle vehicle rises from £38.50 to £40.

The Vehicle Excise Duty (Reduced Pollution) (Amendment) Regulations 2000. CIF 5 January 2001. Amend the level of particulate emissions that a vehicle must meet in order to obtain an RPC0.08g/kWh now becomes 0.03g/kWh, in line with the Euro4 standard.
The Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 2001. CIF 1March 2001. Exclude from the 1988 plating and testing regulations certain vehicles which operate between 3,500-5,000kg.

The basic fee for design Type Approval rises from £68 to £70.
