• London Transport is setting up an action team to work with police and councils to devise bus schemes for London's traffic trouble-spots.
Initially there will be up to five people on the team, but this could increase to 10 or 12 — says Richard Smith at LT. With the team in place by the end of the year, the 3.5m daily LT passengers could increase by up to 10% in the next four years — with an estimated 100,000 spare capacity of places on its buses during morning peak hours, says Smith.
