Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Motorway service area standards have improved since 1980, and now most are providing "a reasonable service and more-or-less acceptable standards of food," the latest Which? report says.

But the Government has been far too slow in planning services on new motorways such as the M11 and M25, it adds.

Although the report concludes that there is still plenty of room for improvement in service areas, Government leasing rules changes in 1980 have improved standards.

Trust House Forte and Welcome Break operators are both commended for their food, and Roadchers Killington Lake is awarded the most attractive service area in Britain by the Which? inspectors. Granada sites are also commended for good all round standards.
