OLD CUSTOMS • Limits have been imposed on the time allowed before the removal of certain goods by road under Customs control.
These limits apply to the removal of transit goods on Form C548, inter-port and inter-airport removals on Form C4.1 or C44A and removals from places of importation to ICDs on Form C44 and from ICDs to places of exportation on Form C44A.
The time limits are 24 hours for journeys of up to 100 miles, 48 hours for journeys between 100 and 250 miles, and 72 hours for journeys over 250 miles.
