ALL STEAMED UP ▪ The County of Shropshire Steam Engine Society is holding its 25th Annual Traction Engine Rally on this coming Bank Holiday weekend, A total of 50 steam vehicles have been entered, including the largest-ever gathering of Sentinels. In addition, there will be around 50 historic commercial vehicles, plus vintage and veteran cars and motor cycles.

The rally is being held at Bishop's Castle, Shropshire, on August 24/25. Admission is for adults and 21 for children and senior citizens.

HOURS AND ACCIDENTS • The new drivers' hours regulations and a look at accident investigation are the subjects of a day's seminar being run by the Sussex centre of the Institute of Transport Administration.

A Supervising Traffic Examiner is to give the driving hours update, followed by the Sussex police talking about accident investigation. The venue is Effingham Park, Crowthorne, Sussex, and the day starts at llam on Wednesday, September 17. The attendance fee is £18.50, which includes lunch.
