• TNT Roadfreight (UK) has created a new post for Alan Jones's latest promotion.
Jones, who until three weeks ago was TNT general manager, has now been made managing director. In this new position he is responsible for the development and expansion of the TNT organisation in the UK.
He has been with TNT for six years in various senior management roles. Before that he spent four years as regional director with National Freight Consortium's parcels company, Roadline. He is a qualified accountant.
Bill Hanley, previously deputy general manager of TNT, has now been appointed general manager. Hanley was one of the original owners of Intercounty Express — the company that TNT acquired in 1978 to gain entry into the UK parcels market.
