Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Repco vacuum brake system for trailers offers positive braking via a single air line and is suitable for many smaller trailers and caravans.

It is easily fitted to most petrolengined vehicles, and consists of a manifold tapping to provide vacuum power, a filter, control valve, vacuum reserve tank, power chamber for the trailer, and the various lines.

Braking effort can be varied proportionally between towing vehicle and trailer with a hand control, which also allows the trailer brakes to be applied independently — useful for hill starts.

Operating automatically with the standard vehicle foot brake, this system dispenses with any overrun brakes on the trailer, making reversing much easier.

Price: From £60 plus VAT for a single-line system. Twin-line systems available.
