Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO TANKER drivers who admitted to stealing dery and supplying it to the proprietor of a garage at Grappenhall, near Warrington, were each fined £40 when they appeared before Warrington magistrates last week.

The court was told that police and Customs and Excise officials kept watch on the Hillcrest garage at Grappenhall and saw one of the defendants supply 100 gallons of diesel oil that was not due for delivery.

Hugh Williams, 42, of Northop Hall, Flintshire, admitted the theft of 100 gallons of dery valued at £50 and asked for a similar offence to be taken into consideration. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £15 compensation.

Frederick Lee, 46, of Hey

field Park Road, Little Sutton, Cheshire, was also fined £40 and ordered to pay £8 compensation after pleading guilty to stealing 35 gallons of diesel fuel and asking for a similar offence to be taken into consideration.

The proprietors of the garage, Leonard Garrington, 61, of Reddy Lane, Bollington, Cheshire, and his son Peter Garrington, 23, of the same address, also received fines after pleading guilty to offences of receiving stolen fuel oil.

It was said on their behalf that business had been difficult and that Leonard Garrington, because of increased costs, had accepted the fuel in an effort to make the situation easier. It was further added that the father had not been aware of the delivery which had been seen by the police.
