DAVIES TURNER has begun a direct scheduled freight groupage service from Scotland to the Continent.
Groupage has previously been trunked to London or Manchester on their feeder services for onward movement.
The Davies Turner Garnkirk depot is equidistant from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Grangemouth and has motorway connections.
Containers are driven to Middlesborough for a shortsea haul to Rotterdam and then routed to Antwerp. Groupage trailers take a different route from Middlesborough to Scheveningen before being taken to Antwerp where Philippens and Co handles clearance and the final stage.
Davies Turner claims that in the case of either containers or trailers, Glasgow warehouse to Antwerp warehouse transit time is three days.
