Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HILTON Transport Services is no longer a transport operating company. As from August 1, HTS reverted to the role of a parent company with seven operating companies under its wing. The group's head office address is now 1 Passey Place, Eltham, London SE9 (tel: 01-859 2133).

The HTS livery is being gradually faded out, according to a spokesman for the company, and in London it will be replaced with a darker blue and the livery of the London operating company, J and 1-1 Transport.

The seven HTS companies are Gomms Transport Ltd in the West Country; general manager is J. Vendle; J and H Transport: gm Mr W. Hill; in the Midlands, Export and General: controlled by Mr A: Butler; at Manchester and Newcastle, W. Reeves and Son: gm M. N. Reeves; in Scotland. Pollocks of Mussleborough: controlled by Mr George Pollock. The Harwich inland clearance depot is managed by Mr V. Turner; and SL1C the South London inland clearance depots at Charlton and Surrey Docks -are managed by Mr M. Beadle.

The spokesman said that each of the companies is now a separate cost centre. There are about 700 vehicles in the group.
