Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Commencing last Sunday. seven depots of Crosville Motors Services Ltd. situated on, or near, the North Wales coast, have been hit by a ban on the collection of the higher fares awarded to the company by the Traffic Commissioners last month. The threat had been averted once by a call for further negotiations (CM July 26 and August 2) but when the new scale came into effect this week, platform staff refused to collect the increased fares.

More than 700 busmen at Caernarvon, Bangor, Rhyl, Flint, Chester. Mold, and Uandudno Junction acted against the advice of the Transport and General Workers Union. whose members at other Crosville depots are charging the new fares.

A spokesman for Crosville said further meetings had been arranged with union and depot representatives to clear up the misunderstanding which had arisen from the men believing that their pay had been frozen, whereas negotiations over their £1 . week claim are still continuing.
