THE only independent bus service operating in Northern Ireland will be taken over by the Ulster Transport Authority on October 1, the date of the closing of the Great Northern Railway services in Co. Fermanagh. It is the Erne But Service, Enniskillen, which was established by' Mr. Maurice F. Cassidy in 1929.
In 28 years the fleet expanded from two vehicles to 11, covering 179 miles of route in six counties.
