BECAUSE it is not practicable for bread delivery vans to maintain a supply of hot water for washing purposes, alternative means for personal cleansing must be sought, says the annual report of Liverpool's medical officer of health.
He draws attention to a method which is now being employed successfully by several concerns in the city. An aluminium dish, with soap and nailbrushes, is kept under the driver's seat, and each vehicle has a supply of paper towels. Hot water is supplied by customers, and the amount of toilet material used is checked at the bakery each night.
