QHORTLY after the release of singleh.-) deck coaches from war duties with the U.S. Army and the Civil Defence organization, the Ministry of War Transport sanctioned the reinstatement of London Transport's Green Line services.

Before placing the vehicles in service, much work had to be done to restore them to presentable condition. After many months of arduous work in all kinds of weather, during which they were subjected to rough treatment, and often garaged in the open, these coaches, when returned to London Transport. wete greatly dilapidated, as can be judged from one of the accompanying pictures. The interiors of some of their had suffered at the hands of amateur decorators who had used whatever kind of paint they had been able to procure, daubing it freely over the coach woth.
