Two pieces of machinery, each weighing at least 130 tons, will be transported in the North by M.R.S., Ltd., about the end of this month. A specially constructed train of vehicles will be employed to carry the extra weight, and the total load on the road will be 200 tons, but it will be so distributed as to render quite reasonable the weight per wheel.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the task is that these Pieces of machinery could not be sent by railway.
Short Measure as a Penal Offence.
Essex County Council has passed a resolution to the effect that representations he made to the Board of Trade and the County Councils Association urging that short measure on the sale of petrol be made a penal offence.
The Scottish Ideal Home Exhibition.

Free State's New Duties.
The new Free State import duties on motor vehicles came into force on August 9th. They are as follow :— British. Non-British. Chassis 42 2-9 per cent. 33 1-3 per cent. Bodies 70 per cent. 75 per cent.
