• Laybys on the Al are full of trucks because of inadequate service stations, a public inquiry has heard.
Strait Properties is appealing against Harrogate Council's decision to block its plan for a restaurant with facilities for truck drivers on the Al/A168 junction at Dishforth, North Yorks. Strait argues there is a need for the stop, but a fierce local campaign has opposed the proposals.
The appeal has been adjourned until 30 April.
