• The Freight Transport Association will call on new Environment Secretary Michael Howard to re-think the Duty of Care waste regulations introduced this month.
The FTA says that waste regulatory bodies are "totally misapplying" the rules, with reports of tipper drivers being told to sheet loads, and carriers refused registration certificates for petty offences in the past like sending waste to the wrong tip.
