• Distribution firms have moved in to grab the spoils of Flockvale Distribution, the West Midlands-based firm which closed this month with around 200 job losses.
Some former Flockvale staff have been employed by firms taking over the 44,000m2 of warehousing space at Minworth,
Erdington, Warrington and Tamworth.
Newly formed Idealcare has taken over Erdington site, 24 staff and Elm worth of distribution and warehouse contracts with Hoover, Calor Gas and Hozelock. It has four drivers, runs 17-tonners, and plans to use three owner-drivers.
Lynx has moved into Minworth taking on Flockvale's Lucas contract and eight staff; Hays continues to rent most of the warehouse space at Warrington and White Arrow has moved into Tamworth.
