hale Tankers has produced this ride-on gully emptier which is specially designed to operate in the narrow streets of the old quarter of Bordeaux, where it is impossible to swing 'un chat'.
The openfronted riding compartment is known as a 'boite a Mickey' and looks marginally less comfortable than a bed of nails — but it allows the operator somewhere to go when the doors cannot be opened. It also bears a passing resemblance to those neighbourly street toilets the French are fond of — I hope no-one gets the wrong idea.
